First new concourse opens at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B

The first 11 gates in LaGuardia’s new, state-of-the-art Terminal B have just opened. Currently, the eastern concourse has operating flights from American Airlines, Air Canada, Delta, and Southwest Airlines.
The new concourse boasts more seating, charging stations, an FAO Schwarz toy store, a children’s play area, and a nursing room. There will be dual pedestrian bridges spanning active aircraft taxi lanes, connecting the main part of the terminal to two island concourses. In the future, pedestrians will be able to walk above aircraft as they make their way towards the gate – all while enjoying stunning views of Manhattan.
“The 1.3-million-square-foot redevelopment of Terminal B, with a construction value of $4 billion, is one of the largest public-private partnerships in American history and the largest in U.S. aviation.”
